The best luxury 7-seater on the market. by The Eastsider on 12/11/2013. Trim: 2014 Audi Q7 3.0 TDI Premium quattro Tiptronic, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Luxurious, incredibly maneuverable for its size, sipping on fuel and prompt at every speed thanks to the amazing engine and transmission (TDI)
Overall review: Everyone in the family loves it. It is a huge car that drives like a compact: it is extremely easy to maneuver even in tight spots thanks to the plethora of sensors and the very tight steering radius. The engine is prompt and sparkly, and can move the significant weight of the car almost effortlessly. The 3 liter turbodiesel is an amazing engine: the torque is huge even at very low RPM and it fits the car perfectly. You will find yourself driving at 80-90 miles per hour with no apparent sign except everyone else looking like they are standing still, if you don't pay attention. In spite of the brilliant performance, it really sips on fuel. On normal use (suburban commute), I am regularly driving 28-30 measured MPGs. It seems that Audi's estimates have been overly conservative. The kids love the spacious back seats and the fact that the in-car WiFi hotspot and 3G connection can easily allow two tablets to connect and stream Netflix at the same time. The sound & nav system is top notch.
