Pros:
Looks, the 6-speed stick, handling, fuel efficiency
Cons:
Seats are a bit hard, visibility through rear window could be better
Overall review:
Kia has completely redesigned the Rio 5 hatchback...it's longer, lower, and wider than previous models, with a new 1.6L GDI engine producing 138 horses, mated to a 6-speed mtx. The interior fit and finish is nice; new toggle switches control A/C and circulation functions; the audio system blends in nicely with the dash. The seats are a bit hard for my liking, and the rear window is narrow, restricting visibility somewhat. Kia stiffened the suspension (very little body roll), improving handling while keeping the ride smooth, and four wheel discs provide adequate stopping power. A multi-function digital display shows odo, A/B trip, time, mpg average, and real-time mpg. I love the electric power steering. Easy in town, at slow speeds, gradually stiffening at higher speeds. Outside, the entire look of the car is vastly improved from last year's Rio. Totally redesigned, with new lights and grillwork. The new Rio 5 should give the competition more than a run for its money. (Reposted)
