From the Test Track
The Elantra uses a 1.8-liter four-cylinder and six-speed automatic that returned a very good 29 mpg overall in our tests. We found the ride to be compliant and handling to be responsive and secure, but road noise is pronounced. The interior is nice and has decent rear-seat room, but the dash vents are positioned too low.
