Trim: 2011 Mercedes-Benz G-Class G550, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
I have owned three g-wagons in my life two diesel two doors and a G-550 which I drive in the states. In original trim off-road no other SUV in stock trim could touch it. Because of its low center of gravity and height it does getting a lilttle getting used to though in that you feel like you are driving down the road on a bar stool because of the verticle seating.
One of the first things you notice though is the solid and I mean solid feel of the SUV and the ear poping thud when you close the door tells you it is a truck of substance and will run for ever.
Cons:
Mercedies in their great wisdom refuses to bring the entire G-Wagon line into the U.S. nor its full line which includes two door versions and convertable models. The other thing is there are several power plant versions including a fantastic diesel power plant that brings this truck in to the reasonable fuel milage range. The other agrivating thing is the cost for servicing this truck. G's rarely break down but the costs can be stagering.
Overall review:
Overall If you can afford the cost of this SUV buy it. Unlike other SUV's this truck much like a Rolex watch. It is pure over the to status to drive one but unless you are driving crazy off-road you will never put this truck through its paces but your presence on the road will be unmistakable. You will always be parked out front at valet parking and your status will never be questioned. The other thing is again much like a Rolex this is a life time investment. The military box structure means it will never go out of style and the hand-built quality truly puts it above anything on ethe market. Buy and enjoy!!!
