M5...don't drive it unless you are prepared to buy it

Pros:
This car is simply amazing. The performance is blistering. In 400 HP mode, the car sounds great, picks up speed very rapidly. Hit the M button and look out. This thing comes alive. Tons, and tons of power, torque and handling to match the power. All this in a package that can hold my family of 4, our stuff and easily fly below the radar. You can arrive in style or as a complete maniac driving it like you stole it. PENOMINAL car, incredible build quality, great ride quality, materials used at top of the line. This car impresses EVERYONE and most importantly, as a serious car nut it impresses me everytime I drive, push it and look at it.
Cons:
The gas mileage is absolutely terrible. You can watch the gas guage move. What do you expect, but be forewarned...it is a thirsty beast. Consumes very expensive motor oil at a rapid pace also. Again, to be expected....you are driving what has been engineered to be a serious performer. SMG transmission is good and bad. Just get the right settings and you will be fine but otherwise it is a little tempermental and tricky to get right in all driving conditions. Stack the shift aggressiveness to max and it will be good.
Overall review:
If you have the means to pay more for insurance, more for a lot of fuel, 200.00 dollar oil changes every 5K and replacement of some serious rubber then go get this car. You and anyone who rides in it will not be disappointed. What an engineering marvel! BMW knew what they were doing...naturally aspirated genius.
