From the Test Track
The Rio sedan and Rio 5 hatchback have a relatively pleasant, 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine. Fuel economy is good but trails the class leaders. The ride is comfortable and quiet. Handling isn't particularly agile. ABS is very hard to find. Curtain air bags are standard, but IIHS side-crash-test results are poor.
