From the Test Track
The Liberty has clumsy handling but overall is secure. The noisy 3.7-liter V6 feels lethargic and returned just 16 mpg overall in our tests. We found the cabin rather narrow and access awkward. The Liberty is suitable for off-road duty and has a ride that is more steady than the similar Dodge Nitro.
