Pros:
The vehicle is tight and quiet. Gas mileage is not as advertised, but is getting better with age (now 7000 miles), averaging about 19 mpg in mixed city/highway.
Cons:
The vehicle has lost the TCS/Stabilitrak/ABS and braking system twice in the past month. First time lost braking system at 70 mph. Luckily highway was empty. First fix was a patch only to have the exact same issue happen again in less than one month. Engineers "working out" the problem, suggesting that the BECM and full wiring harness should be replaced which "should" fix the problem. The "fix" is taking weeks - literally - to figure out. Not exactly inspiring.
Overall review:
Should have been a great truck. Poor build quality in Mexico, and no QC meant missing seal could have resulted in major accident. Poor fix and problem happening a second time means now going for lemon law refund before the truck kills someone.
What should have been the best pickup truck with combination of utility and reduced gas consumption has turned into a nightmare.
Seems Toyota isn't the only one with braking issues!!
