Pros:
Purchased this vehicle new to replace a 98 Buick Century with 131,000 miles. 06 LaCrosse now has 73,000 miles and has been virtually trouble free. Vehicle has excellent roadability and comfort and has been superb for "road trips" All interior finishes are showing little or no wear . The positive experience with this 06 prompted me to buy an additional new 2009 LaCrosse CXL which now has 23,000 miles.

Overall review:
This 06 LaCrosse was plagued with the "knocking steering shaft" problem that came from the factory on many 05 and 06 LaCrosses and I understand some Chevrolets. Had car back to dealer several times between 20,000 and 50,000 miles for "factory fixes" which did not work. Finally, in early 2010, factory found a permanent fix with a new steering shaft design and corrected the problem in my vehicle as though still in warranty although odometer had 60,000 miles. Have had no problem since. If you own one of these cars and hear a rattle or knock in the steering at low speeds check with a dealer about the steering shaft.
