Nice Car But Not the Mercedes of Years Gone By.
by Bill on 02/05/2007.
Trim: 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C240 Luxury Sedan, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
This car has great lines and is very good looking car. The performance is excellent and the fuel mileage is surprisingly good given the size and power of the car
Cons:
This is my second Mercedes and the level of quality has dropped significantly from my 1995 C220. I have had the car into the shop 10 times in the past 8000 miles for issues related to quality including peeling finish on the grill and internal fixtures, failure of gas door lock, failure of driver door mechanism (fell apart!) and a front end that can't seem to hold an alignment for more than 1000 miles. Luckily I don't depend on it for my daily driver or it would be gone already. The car looks good but it seems that Chrysler quality? is sneaking into the Mercedes product line
Overall review:
I like the performance and looks of the car but am very disappointed in the quality of components. It appears that the Chrysler effect is spreading into the Mercedes product line and corners are beginning to be cut. Hopefully Mercedes will realize this and go back to their "legendary quality." Sadly, this will be my last Mercedes as there are now so many better made luxury cars on the market for the same or less money.
