Blue Book® Suggested Retail Value Fuel Economy (city/hwy) ![]() In the early days, the Toyota 4Runner might have been thought of as a bargain sport utility vehicle. Not anymore. Pros:
Very reliable vehicle. Good power, good handling, and surprisingly enough, good towing. Styling is definately a step up from the previous generation 4runner.
Cons:
Don't especially like the motorized rear hatch mechanism. Have had trouble with it not closing and then you're driving around with a bungy holding it shut. Has happened twice and found out that disconnecting the battery takes care of the problem. (must be a reset of some kind) I'm 6'1 and the back seat leg room could be larger. Not uncomfortable, but you can't really sprawl out. The trade-mark rotten egg smell from the catalytic converter is annoying at times.
Overall review:
Overall, I love my 4runner. Have owned 3 different generations and this one is the best. Not to say I've had any trouble with the others. 4th gen just offers more creature comforts. Would recommend this truck to anyone!
