Subaru Legacy GT UN-Limited by Milton@Madison on 02/08/2012. Trim: 2002 Subaru Legacy GT Limited, Owned 8 years.
Pros: All-weather handling is amazing with 40,000 - 50,000 mile rated tires. Able to tow SUV-sized vehicles from snow banks and ditches. High survivability in low to 45mph impacts with minor work needed to the Fuji Heavy Industries sheet metal body. High-mileage durability reportedly lasting 250,000 - 400,000 miles with proper maintenance, currently at 125,000 miles.
Cons: Pedals are too small and needed to be corrected with after-market parts. Exhaust tip and Shift knobs are not stylish enough for this level of vehicle craftsmanship. Manual brakes need improvement and only able to handle 25 - 35 degree inclines. Head lamp assembly and bulbs need to be better focused and increased illumination.
Overall review: Most of the major aspects one seeks in a long-lasting vehicle is well covered by the Subaru Legacy GT Limited. The level of comfort and amenities offered are above average with room for improvement. Refinements leave much to be desired and that extra attention to detail would have been worth the additional $1,000 - $2,000 to the sticker price. Overall this vehicle has proven its worth and reliability many times over and I would recommend the Subaru Legacy GT Limited to anyone looking for a well-driven, affordable alternative to the pricey BMW, Audi, and Mercedes Benz.
