Excellent value: Quality car worth the money. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 01/24/2009. Trim: 2000 Mazda Protege ES, Owned 4 years.

Pros: Price, quality and reliability, clean interior, good driving visibility, power windows and mirrors, nice sunroof, sufficient trunk, good handling. Sufficient power for needed acceleration. Good paint. Sunroof works well and does not leak. Nice, clean gages. Accurate fuel indicator and car health (check engine) monitor system. I like the way it looks, straight lines, sporty.

Cons: Gas mileage could be better for 1.6L manual. Somewhat noisy on the highway, tires you out on long trips. Suspension is a bit bumpy; it is more of sports suspension setup.

Overall review: This is good car for local commuting. Pretty good mileage. Reliable. Clean. Comfortable. Inexpensive and good retail value.
