Pros:
The ultimate sports coupe - timeless styling and elegance, bulletproof engine and transmission (my BMW mechanic stated that he regularly sees the 3.5 engine at 250K miles before any major work is needed), a classic in waiting. Blue book price is a steal - $60K new.
Cons:
Keep an eye on the drive shaft (replace at 75K), metric wheels are an issue (now replaced) as tires are hard to find, reliability issues skyrocket after 120K miles (to be expected; everything but the transmission and engine will need replacing), and *keep away* from dealerships for maintenance (will overcharge on parts pricing).
Overall review:
All that said, well worth the upkeep - a gorgeous machine. White paint with elegant Breyton five spoke mags. I've kept it perfectly maintained into 190K miles (after buying it at 60K), and get compliments from enthusiasts and novices alike.
