The 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid is the first hybrid model from Subaru, based on the XV Crosstrek. The hybrid powertrain combines a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine with a 13.4-horsepower electric motor that is integrated into the Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission. The XV Crosstrek Hybrid can operate in EV mode at low speed for short distances and includes an audible pedestrian alert system. The integrated starter/generator allows for automatic start/stop functionality and there is a brake regeneration system to captured braking energy. A color multi-function display shows the energy flow through the hybrid system based on driving conditions. The standard All-Weather Package includes heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors and windshield wiper deicer. A rear vision camera is also standard. The Limited adds leather seating, navigation with Aha infotainment smartphone integration and a power moonroof.

Pros: As my previous vehicle was a hybrid, I already knew some tricks. I'm already getting closer to 35 mpg, and I've had the car 5 weeks. I'm glad that I bought it.
Cons: About the only thing I would add is electric seats.
Overall review: Highly recommended!
