The Mazda3 is all-new for 2014 with Mazda’s KODO “Soul of Motion” design language and fuel-saving SKYACTIV technology. Mazda3 i trim levels are powered by a 155-horsepower 2.0-liter SKYACTIV engine and Mazda3 s receives the 184-horsepower 2.5-liter SKYACTIV engine. New technology includes the capacitor-based regenerative engine braking i-ELOOP system for improved fuel economy. The Mazda3 i SV sedan is available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic. Standard equipment includes push-button start, automatic power door locks, a remote keyless entry system, daytime running lights, USB connection port, a tilt-and-telescopic adjustable steering column, air conditioning with pollen filter and cloth sport seats. The Mazda3 i Sport is available in sedan or hatchback versions and adds illuminated steering wheel controls, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio connectivity, cruise control and a trip computer. The Mazda3 i and Mazda3 s are both available in Touring and Grand Touring versions as well. The Mazda3 i hatchback is rated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at 29 city/40 highway/33 combined mpg with a manual transmission and 30 city/40 highway/33 combined mpg when equipped with an automatic.
