Good value, good price and great room. by Pspknine on 07/17/2014. Trim: 2014 Kia Sedona EX, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: The rear seats are more comfortable than the "Stow and go" seats offered on the Chrysler and the Honda. This van fits 6 comfortably with room to spare for luggage. This car actually has very good throttle response. It is downright peppy but of course it is a minivan-it does not handle like a sports car. The braking and safety features are good and the visibility in all directions is great. By the way, I also own a Dodge Grand Caravan.
Cons: I really am not impressed with the overwhelming amount of plastic used throughout this van. Other vans have the same type of plastic materials throughout but the plastic somehow seems more pronounced on the Kia. The gas mileage is not the best. Even on a trip we were hard-pressed to get 24 MPG. Most of the time we get about 22 MPG combined driving.
Overall review: Before buying our 2014 Kia in October of 2013, we looked at the Chrysler Town and Country and the Honda Odyssey. Both the Town and Country and the Odyssey offered a few more features. The Honda offered adaptive cruise and both other vans offered the integral DVD player. The biggest difference for us came down to price and warranty. The Kia was $ 5,000 less comparably equipped, even after having an aftermarket dual screen DVD entertainment system installed and the warranty was better on the Kia than the others. We have had this van now for about 10 months and we have almost 12,000 miles on it. To this point we have been very happy with this van in every way. It has experienced no problems, as expected, and our entire family has been comfortable in this van in every situation. We have had 7 people in the van, with a 12 year old, a 10 year old and a 9 year old in the rear seat and they were happy back there for one hour without complaints.
