Quick Fix for Temperatures Under 40 Degrees by Ken - Naperville, IL on 05/16/2014. Trim: 2014 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Great fuel economy and very reasonably priced.
Cons: Limited trunk space due to the battery location, but to be expected. I wish Hyundai would put a compass in the car. It can't cost much and would be a welcome addition.
Overall review: The problem with operation under 40 degrees is the auto temperature control. Avoid it and your mileage will be as advertised. The auto temperature control keeps the engine running for the heater. The battery does not provide any heat, so it is taken out of the power loop. Just control the heat manually and you'll get 35 in town and 40 on the highway.
