Bmw falling behind by Juni on 01/19/2014. Trim: 2014 BMW 3-Series 328i.
13
Pros: N20 and n55 engine
Cons: Bmw is overpriced on the 3 series. 320 was released as an additional vehicle in the lineup to raise profit/msrp across the 3 series line. Infiniti q50, superb quality interior, and standard 320 hp engine at a sensible price. Bmw should take note, satisfaction is not soley based on reputation, there are better alternatives to be had at this price range. 328i should be base priced as the 320, 335 as the 328 in order for the lineup to make sense. How a near luxury vehicle as the 320 have no power seats in 2014 is confounding, more so how leather isn't standard on the 328 or 335 when a consumer is paying more than 40k is unfortunate, consumers see this and are reevaluating the brand.
Overall review: Bmw is losing its appeal. Overpricing and a confusing lineup, substandard interiors in 2014 makes the buy a tough pill to swallow. Fully loaded 328i msrp will be around 50k. Actual market value is really around 40k with current automotive trends, 10k for the brand name and an engine that is quick but still a 4 cylinder.
