Wolf SUV in Sheep's Clothing by Audi Fan on 04/02/2014. Trim: 2014 Audi SQ5 3.0T Premium Plus quattro Tiptronic, Owned 1 year.
Pros: The SQ5 is an SUV "Wolf" in Sheep's clothing! our SQ5 was bought after we traded in our 2011 Q5 for the SQ5 2013 model, in the Ice Silver Metallic...21" tires, the 3.0 Supercharged to 354 HP is awesome, this SUV is fast... the tiptronic is fun, but the best part if the dynamic control, you can select, Auto (Computer controlled) Comfort (great for highway and gas saving) and Dynamic- when you select dynamic and pull the stick back to "S" it is a sports car, and rides/handles like one....Heated and Ventilated seats, cupholder that warms and cools beverages, the AUDI MMI is great for phone and music and real time NAV. Sunroof with Screen that you can keep closed while roof is open is nice
Cons: just a few things, Tires- came with the 21" Dunlop Summer tires, checked all sources, these are the ONLY tires manufactured for this vehicle, there are no other brand/size that fit the car. in my opinion summer tires are a rip off- they don't last and you can't appreciate the difference in grip. they wont even last past 15K probably and I don't want to buy them again, want to put all weathers on... Muffler, driver side rattled on cold start, the Dealer replaced it, no questions asked. and the Wifi hotspot feature in the MMI, is a gimmick, it doesn't work, it's only 3G and T-Mobile Sim card which is a joke, and you can't switch providers.
Overall review: Great Car, Love the handling, speed and performance, all the amenities are comparable to a Porsche Cayenne for about 40-50% less. (Think Rolex, paying for the name and an Omega/Tag Heuer watches).... Gets decent gas mileage, but if you are buying these supercharged engines at this price point, do you really care?? you have to run 93 octane in it anyways... we own the S4 and not this SQ5. the 3.0T V-6 is a great power plant for Audi to hang its reputation on... it even powers the Q7 and A8 base models....blows the doors off the BMW X5 and we think it's more stylish...
