45MPG is real! by Charlotte on 03/06/2014. Trim: 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid SEL Premium, Owned 1 year.

Pros: The styling may lack the flash of the Kia and Fusion, but the quality, ergonomics, economics and just plain joy of driving this hybrid far outweigh the simple styling. VW was known as the wolf in sheep's clothing in previous decades…..this vehicle is best described as a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. A light touch will bring the 45MPG or even better. The GLI handling is guaranteed to provide a grin when you drop to sport mode and kick the throttle and the turbo and electric jump together. Everyone will get to see the back of the car, showing it's "good side".
Cons: Would love to see a plug-in option, and maybe lean a little heavier to the electric side with a capacity increase. This car is awesome, just makes you want more.
Overall review: Great car, Absolutely amazing that 30,000 miles on first year release, and not a hiccup from braking(friction/electric regenerating), turbo gas engine and electric motor. It is still shocking that the technology can make these transitions seamless.
