The Chevrolet Malibu is new for 2013 with an updated exterior design and a new dual-cockpit interior that offers more room, a quieter ride and upgraded materials. Malibu is powered by a new fuel-efficient 2.5-liter Ecotec engine with a new 6-speed automatic transmission. The Malibu Eco features the eAssist system which combines an 115V lithium-ion battery and a 15 kW electric motor to optimize the performance and efficient of the 182-horsepower 2.4-liter Ecotec engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. The eAssist uses regenerative braking to capture energy to charge the battery and can provide up to 15 horsepower of electric power assistance during heavy acceleration. The electric motor enables smooth start-stop functionality and great fuel efficiency estimated by General Motors to be 25/37 mpg city/hwy.

Malibu is a winner...the American Auto Industry is BACK! by Topcat on 05/23/2012. Trim: 2013 Chevrolet Malibu ECO 1SA, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: The high quality of the ride and how extremely quiet the vehicle is, especially at highway speeds which makes listening to the radio much more pleasurable as well as making hands free phone calls with the Malibus Bluetooth system very clear. I was able to squeeze 39 MPG on a long highway trip! Very comfortable seats both front and back.I LOVE this car.

Cons: Wow, very little to dislike if anything. Because it is the Eco model, a small section of the trunk is used for the battery ventilation cutting down on trunk space just a bit.

Overall review: Overall I would say the 2013 Malibu in regards to overall quality of design and materials, comfort, features, performance and fuel economy is ABSOLUTELY one of the best values on the road. I could say it feels like it rides like a Cadillac, VERY solid.
