The 2013 BMW 1-Series adds the 135is coupe and convertible to the lineup. The 135is uses the same turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine found in the 135i, but tuned to increase peak horsepower to 320, a 20-horsepower increase, while maintaining the same emissions level and mileage ratings of the 135i. A performance exhaust system complements the increased engine performance and provides a sporty exhaust tone. The engine cooling system has been upgraded to match the additional performance output by adding a larger, and more powerful radiator fan and an auxiliary radiator. Both BMW 135is models will be offered with either a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 7-speed double clutch transmission. The exterior of the new 135is will be identified by exclusive 18-inch wheels, a high-gloss black kidney grill, black mirror caps and special exterior badges. Interior highlights include stainless steel pedals, special interior badges and optional black leather seats with blue stitching for the standard sport seats.

This car is FUN to drive! by An MSN Autos Consumer on 05/14/2013. Trim: 2013 BMW 128i Convertible, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: I owned the 2013 128i convertible for 5 months – an absolute FUN car to drive! Handles like a go-cart. Great acceleration! You will need to purchase a radar detector because you can easily exceed the speed limit without even feeling it. The power sport seat upgrade is a must – the most comfortable/sporty seats ever!! Braking ability of this car is unbelievable. The back seat is small, but it works in a pinch (but not on a long ride unless there’re kids). Did I mention that this is a fun car to drive – REAL FUN!
Cons: BMW could have engineered the wiper switch and some of the knobs, dials, & controls to be more user-friendly and simple for the driver to use. There are only 2 cup holders both designed to fit small cups. The cup holder next to the center console is actually useless. Small trunk space, but that’s to be expected with this sports car.
Overall review: Runs, feels, rides, handles, corners, accelerates, and looks like the ultimate driving machine
