The 2013 Audi RS 5 is the new high-performance version of the Audi A5 coupe and convertible that joins the lineup above the S5. The RS 5 is powered by a 450-horsepower naturally-aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine combined with a 7-speed double-clutch S tronic transmission that will operate automatically or can be shifted manually by the driver using the gear selector or shift paddles on the steering wheel. The Audi drive select system allows the driver to choose between auto, comfort, dynamic and individual drive settings that adjust the transmission shift characteristics, throttle response, dynamic steering and sports differential. The RS 5 is also equipped with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system and the center differential can distribute up to 70 percent of torque to the front wheels and up to 85 percent to the rear wheels as needed with 60 percent of torque delivered to the rear wheels under normal driving conditions.

Pros: This is an exciting car. If you use launch control, better hang on! Ride is firmer than most other Audi's I have owned (A6, A5, A4 and S5) but handling is outstanding. 7 speed S-tronic transmission is a great improvement over the 6 speed tip-tronic in the S5...and 100 more horsepower isn't bad either! A great car and was worth the 4 month wait to get it.
Cons: Nothing.
Overall review: Not the car for everybody, but if you are a "car nut", like high performance, don't want to see your car every time you drive someplace, and like Audi's, this one is for you.
