2013 Audi A8

The 2013 Audi A8 receives two new engines: a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine (previously unavailable in the U.S.) and an all-new 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, both of which replace the naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine on previous A8 models. Producing 420 horsepower and 444 lb-ft of torque, the new 4.0T V8 is faster and more powerful than the outgoing 4.2 liter, and utilizes efficiency technologies such as cylinder on demand that can convert the A8 from an 8-cylinder to a 4-cylinder engine. The supercharged 3.0T V6 produces 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque and includes an engine stop-start system as a fuel-economy aid. The 500-horsepower 6.3-liter W12 engine will remain as the A8’s top-of-the line powerplant. All A8s will continue with standard quattro all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
