2012 Volkswagen Beetle

The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is all-new with a design that looks back to the original Beetle but moves to the future with a bolder, more dynamic design. The Beetle is longer, lower and wider than the previous New Beetle that it replaces. The Beetle is powered by a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 5-cylinder mated with a 6-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual later in the year. EPA estimated fuel economy with the automatic is 22/29 mpg city/hwy. The Beetle Turbo is powered by a 200-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder combined with a 6-speed DSG transmission or a 6-speed manual later in the year. EPA estimated fuel economy with the DSG is 22/30 mpg city/hwy. During 2012 the Beetle will also be offered with Volkswagen’s 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel and Volkswagen estimates fuel economy will be 29/40 mpg city/hwy.
