The 2012 Porsche Panamera adds the new top of the line Panamera Turbo S, powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engine that delivers 550 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. In the “Sport” and “Sport Plus” modes of the standard Sport Chrono Package, the overboost function can temporarily generate peak torque of 590 lb-ft. For 2012 Lane Change Assistant is available. Porsche Exclusive options include Bi-XENON headlight surrounds in black, Sport Exhaust tailpipes and new interior leather packages.

Short Take

Porsche's four-door luxury sedan is a large and low-slung, styled like a 911, and delivers performance and comfort. Power comes from a 400-hp V8 or a 500-hp turbocharged version. Rear- and all-wheel drive are available. The interior uses luxury materials and is fitted with a button-dominated center stack for the climate, navigation, and entertainment systems.

Buy one. You'll love it. Porsche rocks by George. Willow Springs il on 05/04/2012. Trim: 2012 Porsche Panamera 4, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Contrary to popular opinion, it's a great looking car. Plus it's a Porsche. Amazing suspension. Plenty fast. Excellent mileage. Great sound system. . Love it.

Cons: Engine when cold lurches at low rpm. Getting in and out is a good trick for a big guy. I weigh north of 350 , but I can get in and out with the right technique. Once in, love it.

Overall review: 9.6. Fabulous car in every way.
