Luxury Hybrid by J from Chi-town on 03/14/2014. Trim: 2012 Infiniti M Hybrid 35h, Owned 2 years.
Pros: I have driven this car for about 40,000 miles. It is extremely comfortable with all the amenities you would expect from a luxury car. This car replaced a Mini Cooper, which average about the same gas mileage(averaging 29.2 overall), but wasn't even close to as comfortable. Bonus is that the Infiniti is even quicker. As a matter of fact this car is extremely fast when needed. It is also very good in the snow and I haven't had to fit it with snow tires. Using the snow mode is all it needs. The fit and finish is very high quality.
Cons: The transition from electric to gas power can be abrupt and not as seamless as a pure gas powered car. But it is not any different than a Prius I had for 150,000 miles. The brakes are also the same as the Prius in that they are not as easy to modulate as a pure gas powered car. For some reason Infiniti recommends oil changes every 3750 miles, which I find unusual after having the Mini go as long as 10,000-12,000miles between changes. Minor problems have been audio unit with Nav was replaced due to strange glitches, but it was under warranty. Other than that just normal maintenance.
Overall review: If you are looking for a luxury automobile that has great gas mileage and very high performance then this is the car. Again the transition between gas and electric is occasionally not seamless, but overall it is very satisfying to have a quick off the line vehicle that has the gas mileage of a much smaller car.
