The 2011 Aston Martin V12 Vantage is a new model based on the V8 Vantage and powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 510 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. To develop additional power over the standard DB9 engine, a by-pass engine air intake increases air flow above 5,500 rpm. A ‘Sport’ button allows the driver to select between two powertrain modes. Normal mode offers progressive throttle response more suited for everyday driving while Sport mode delivers sharper throttle response and a sportier exhaust note. The V12 Vantage is offered only with a 6-speed manual transmission in a transaxle configuration to more balanced weight distribution.
