Pros: Power to burn, Turbo, Excellent brakes, Fantastic handling, Excellent price-to-performance ratio, Decent interior, Functional hood scoop, Reasonable gas mileage, Practical (4 doors with a hatch), Boost gauge, Best BOSE car audio system i've heard yet
Cons: Torque-steer on bumpy roads, Mysterious shifter "thunking", Seats grow tiresome on trips, Sport model only - No GT (HID/Sunroof/Heated Seats) option, Few creaks/rattles already, Comes with summer tires only (NOT acceptable in the snow), Instant Fuel Economy computer is always -2 MPG off, NO TEMPERATURE GAUGE???
Overall review: After 3K miles, the Mazdaspeed3 is everything i've expected it to be. It has a few quarks that are easily overlooked (#1 being the grinning front fascia) after driving it day in and day out. It always has power to burn in any gear, including 5th and 6th gear highway passes. Although no GT package was offered in 2010 (???), the sport model offers only 1 option (tech package) which loads it up with navigation and a few other odds and ends. Oddly enough, HID headlights and a sunroof are NOT offered with the 2010 MS3. Ride is firm, but not punishing. Cornering is excellent, although you never forget that its a FWD car. Power is limited in 1st through 3rd gear in attempt to limit the torque-steer, and it does a decent job. All-season/Winter tires are a MUST in snow climates. A boost gauge has finally been added but oddly enough, no temperature gauge is found. All said, the MS3 is a great little runaround that should quench even the biggest thirst for power on a reasonable budget.
