Pros: The 4.0L engine in the SEL is terrific! Very powerful engine, easy highway passing. Very quite interior, excellent stock stereo (REQ), front seats are very comfortable. VW did a very admirable job re-fashioning the Chrysler Town & Country that this van is based upon.
Cons: Real world gas mileage around town is 16 mpg.
Overall review: I shopped every minivan on the market and had my thought my first choice was the Honda Odyssey. The Routan was my last test drive and it was quieter and more comfortable than the Odyssey and.... $10,000 cheaper. I purchased the Routan June 2009 and to date have absolutely no regrets. The Routan may not have been my first choice but it turned out to have been my best choice.
