The 2009 Jetta SportWagen is new for 2009, rejoining the Volkswagen lineup alongside the Jetta sedan after a 3-year hiatus. The 2009 Jetta SportWagen will be offered with three different engine choices, beginning with the 170-horsepower 2.5-liter 5-cylinder, followed later in the model year by the 200-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder and the new clean diesel engine. The Jetta SportWagen TDI is powered by an all-new 2.0-liter clean diesel engine that produces 140 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Pros: Great fit and finish/ 39mpg average/ engine torque ensures six speed transmission to work effortlessly/Huge sunroof, like driving a convertible/ user friendly gps-great sounding entertainment system/ 6ft 5 height (225lbs) in back seats (comfortable) with more to spare in front seats/ Quiet diesel motor (sounds like a gas motor), with plenty of power/ New warranties on 2009s/ Comfortable ride/ Great braking/ Steering is tight/ Six speed transmission is quiet and smooth/ Easy to read gauges..
Cons: Needs ignition key lights/ Dual climate controls/ More options/ Sunroof netting/ No glove box light...
Overall review: If your comparing this with a battery hybrid vehicle, "there is no need to". Hands down this VW sportwagen will run circles around any hybrid vehicle its size. Diesel will outlast and outperform any of these battery hybrids. MPG+Longevity=VOLKSWAGEN TDI. Very nice car....
