New for 2009 Volkswagen GTI

The 2009 Volkswagen GTI adds the cold weather package as standard equipment. New 18-inch alloy wheels are optional with either all-season tires or summer performance tires and combined with the sunroof package. The optional navigation system is improved for 2009 and features a 6.5-inch high-resolution touch-screen display, integrated 30 GB hard drive, Audio CD and Video DVD playback, SD memory card slot and USB connection. The new GTI Autobahn package includes Top Sport leather seating.

Short Take

The GTI is quick and agile with a gutsy turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that sounds good, all of which make it fun to drive. A four-door version is available, and the R32 V6 AWD performance version returns for 2008.
