New for 2009 Suzuki SX4 Sport

The 2009 Suzuki SX4 Sport gets a number of upgrades for the new model year, most notably a standard navigation system. The nav system was developed with Garmin and features TRIP (Travel, Real-time traffic, Information and Play). In addition to the Bluetooth connectivity, the system provides a number of available MSN Direct-enabled features, including real-time traffic, weather forecasts, news reports, stock quotes, local event listings and a gas station finder capable of locating the lowest priced fuel in your area. Also new for 2009 is the standard driver and passenger armrest and split-folding rear seats.

Short Take

This small raised hatchback has a selective front- or all-wheel-drive setting. Power comes from a 130-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. We got 22 mpg overall in the AWD Sports model. Curtain air bags and ABS are standard, and ESC is optional. Access and visibility are excellent, but ride and noise are so-so. A front-wheel-drive sedan is also available.
