The engine was designed to eat so much ! by An MSN Autos Consumer on 03/10/2010. Trim: 2009 Hyundai Entourage GLS, Owned 2 years.

Pros: My friend owns this type of van. I just wanted to reply to those who comlain about "to much gas". Guys, this car has 3.8 liter engine. It MUST eat a lot of gas. It's 250 horse power motor, so what do you want? If you drive steady on a highway 60 to 70 miles an hour, thanks to the 5-th gear it would take about 9 liters of gas per 100 km. Sorry, I use European standards to explain. For those who had marks higher than "C" it wouldn't be a problem to recalculate. And once you enter the ciry, it becomes about 14 to 15 liters. See first how and where you drive.
Cons: It's a twin sister of KIA Sedona which is cheaper
Overall review: Just for your info. The vans of such size in Europe use engines somewhere between 2.0 to 2.2 liters. If it's a 2.5, it would be considered as "big and thirsty". The gas price (as you know of course) there is 2.5 times higher then in USA. So once again. Nothing is wrong with this car. It's a heavy van with powerfull engine. It must eat a lot! And...when you compare any cars to chosee from add at least 15 to 20 persent to the gas usage which was advertised by the vendor. It was tested on the ideal gas, ideal oil, ideal asphalt and...by ideal driver. The real life isn't so ideal :)
