New for 2009 GMC Yukon

The 2009 GMC Yukon adds a new 6-speed automatic transmission as standard with the 5.3-liter V8 engine, standard third-row seating for all trim levels, OnStar 8.0 with Turn-by-Turn navigation and Destination Download, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calls and XM Satellite Radio with NavTraffic feature. Dark Crimson Metallic is a new exterior color and available options include 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels, heavy-duty trailering package and rearview camera system with the screen integrated into the inside rearview mirror.

Short Take

The redesigned Yukon has better handling, braking, ride, and interior materials than its predecessor. 4WD models have a selectable full-time system that can remain engaged indefinitely. ESC is standard. A hybrid version gets 19 mpg, a big improvement. Reliability has improved to average.
