2009 Chevrolet Corvette

The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette adds the Corvette ZR1, the most powerful and fastest production car ever from General Motors. Powered by a 638-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine mated with a 6-speed manual transmission with dual-clutch technology, the Corvette ZR1 is capable of a top track speed of 205 mph. To handle the power and speed, the ZR1 is fitted with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, ZR1-specific Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires and 20-spoke 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear) wheels in Sterling Silver or chrome. The ZR1 features wider carbon-fiber dual-port front fenders, raised carbon-fiber hood with a polycarbonate panel to allow a view of the intercooler and a full-width rear spoiler. The carbon-fiber roof panel, front splitter and rocker moldings are clear-coated with visible carbon-fiber weave. Magnetic Selective Ride Control with track-level suspension is standard and the gauge cluster includes a boost gauge. Also for 2009, the Corvette Z06 receives a new spider wheel design in Sparkle Silver, Competition Gray or chrome, door sill plates with Z06 logo and both red and titanium interiors have color-matched door panels and lower instrument panel.
