The redesigned 2008 Toyota Highlander is larger and more powerful than its predecessor with a more expressive exterior design and more interior room. Powered by a new 3.5-liter V6 that produces 270 horsepower, the Highlander is mated to a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with manual shift mode. Safety features include seven standard airbags and Toyota’s Star Safety System which includes enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist.

Best all round mid-sized SUV for the money. by Aussie33 on 11/21/2011. Trim: 2008 Toyota Highlander Sport 4X4, Owned 3 years.

Pros: Over 70,000 miles and still love it like the day I drove it of the dealer lot.

Cons: Tire replacement choices

Overall review: Over the past 4 year I owned the Highlander I never once regreted my purchace. From commuting to work to hunting off-road I have loved everyting about it.
