After debuting for the 2007 model year, the 2008 Nissan Versa adds an optional Sport Package on the sedan SL (already available on hatchback SL). The Sport Package adds more performance and bolder styling with a rear spoiler (roof-mounted for Hatchback, decklid-mounted for Sedan), lower body side sill extensions, unique front and rear fascia hatchback), chin spoiler (sedan) and fog lights. Cruise control is now available for the S.

Love it! by Canadian Versa Fan on 06/15/2012. Trim: 2008 Nissan Versa 1.8 SL, Owned 5 years.

Pros: This is the most comfortable car I have driven. It has a lot of cargo room and decent power for city and highway driving. Mine currently has 118000km (purchased it new) and I get around 7.9 l/100km average. I am an enthusiastic driver and can very easily increase the mileage when driving conservatively. Fit and finish is good and I have not had any problems except the muffler rusted off at about four and a half years. Sure do love salty Canadian winters!

Cons: Styling is a little dorky and it could use a water temperature gauge. I am not a fan of the blue and red indicator lights. I like more information. The handling is nothing special, but is a lot better than the competition for what it is, an entry level economy car that actually competes with some compacts. I improved the handling by using winter tires on the factory rims and a plus 2 summer tire setup (215/45-R17). This minor tweak made quite a bit of difference. The factory tires were pretty poor.

Overall review: I love this car! I have been contemplating selling it and upgrading for a couple years now, but I drive long distances and have not found a vehicle that would effectively replace it with regards to practicality and comfort.
