2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid

The 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid is the first full-size SUV hybrid with a state-of-the-art hybrid system using GM’s all-new Electrically Variable Transmission (EVT). GM’s advanced EVT is combined with a 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System, which work in concert with the standard 6.0-liter V8 Gen IV gasoline engine with Active Fuel Management and late intake valve closing technology. The new hybrid system allows the Tahoe Hybrid to drive at up to 30 mph on electricity alone and also allows the engine to operate in its more economical V4 mode for longer periods.
