Spring for the Aero with the Ventilated Seats! by deacane from Miami on 03/19/2007. Trim: 2007 Saab 9-5 SportCombi 2.3T, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: It is the best combination of sportiness, luxury, and utility available. It drives like a European luxury sedan, with nice performance and handling, but you can still pack a few plasma televisions in the back with the 73 square feet of cargo space. I particularly like the ventilated, cooled leather seats and the Harman/Kardon soundsystem with XM Radio. I also like the fact that this car is rare.
Cons: The navigation system is a really bad option; it is way overpriced and it takes away XM Radio. The second cupholder, which is inside the armrest, is not usable. Hirsch Performance products, which manufactures sporty accessories for Saabs and are sold through Saab Dealers overseas, are not available in the United States.
Overall review: This car gets really poor treatment from the so-called experts because it is not an all-new model. Why is that important? Is it reliable? Very. We have a 2005 9-5 with this same 4-cylinder turbo, ecopower engine and it has been the most reliable car I have had in more than a decade. Is it safe? It was recognized as the safest car in Sweden, and though it has less airbags than the newest, it is big and safe. Is it fun to drive? Very. The 4-cylinder turbo takes off fast and the car loves highway. With the Aero package, it corners as well as my 2004 BMW 3-series. Is it expensive? It is the 2nd-cheapest mid to large size wagon. You might be able to get the Volkwagen Passat for a little cheaper, but the Volvo V70 is $5000 more, the Audi A6 Avant is $10,000+ more, and the BMW 530ix is $15,000 more. Once you take ownership, the car gets great mileage, routinely getting about 30 mpg highway. Does it look good? My daughter calls it "Hot Wheels" so apparently it looks cool.
