The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander is all new featuring a longer wheelbase and a wider track and is available in three trims: ES, LS and XLS. Under the hood is a new 220-horsepower aluminum MIVEC V6 engine that’s teamed to a six-speed Sportronic automatic transmission with available magnesium steering-wheel-paddle shifters. The exterior is highlighted by a “diamond cut” front end, boldly sculpted fender flares and LED taillight clusters that give a distinct look. Tinted glass is standard on LS and XLS while the XLS also receives a color-keyed front bumper with silver skid plate extension, silver-painted roof rails, door handles, dual exhaust tailpipe outlets and 18-inch alloy wheels. The interior features smooth forms and sculpted door panels that are offset by silver-accent trim, deeply contoured front bucket seats and motorcycle-style instrument panel gauges. The load floor is nearly eight inches lower than its predecessor and when the tailgate is lowered, it can also serve as a seat for outdoor activities with a weight capacity of 440 lbs.

Incredible value for your money by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/01/2009. Trim: 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 4WD, Owned 2 years.

Pros: Everything comes standard, and similarly equipped in other competitor would add $5000 to price. Trunk door is my favorite feature for outdoorsy needs (changing snowboard boots, hiking boots, etc). Handles better than BMW & Subaru in deep snow with 4 wheel lock feature.
Cons: A few minor quality issue (trunk, and steering wheel made noise), and interior styling could be more plush. Visors are allittle cheap.
Overall review: Incredible value for cross over and great external styling!
