The 2007 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 is powered by a 263-horsepower 2.3-liter DISI (Direct Injection Spark Ignition) turbocharged and intercooled engine and mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The exterior is differentiated from the Mazda3 with widened front fenders, aerodynamic side skirts, 18-inch 10-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, and design elements from the MAZDASPEED6. The rear view is characterized by the design of the rear bumper, the large-diameter tailpipe and the roof spoiler with integrated high-mounted LED brake light. The interior is fitted with a high-quality black finish, aluminum pedals, stainless steel scuff plates, semi-bucket front seats, and red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and leather-wrapped shift knob. Safety equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, ventilated in front, four-wheel ABS, electronic brake force distribution (EBD) with brake assist and dynamic stability control (DSC), and standard dual frontal airbags and seat-mounted and roof-mounted curtain airbags.

a LOT of car for the money by An MSN Autos Consumer on 01/16/2008. Trim: 2007 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 Grand Touring 5-Door, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Awesome bang-for-the-buck and quality-for-the-buck. Incredibly fun to drive. Very nice fit and finish -- belies the price. GT stereo has great sound. Great styling, but close enough to the standard Mazda 3 that it doesn't draw unwanted attention.
Cons: Minor things only: Shifter could be more precise. Red light on the gauges can strain the eyes sometimes. Rear LED lights look chintzy IMHO. Manual says 14.5-gallon fuel capacity, but I've never been able to put in more than 12.5 (!?!). Mute button on stereo does not pause CD. Torque steer occasionally rears its ugly head.
Overall review: Wonderful car -- a LOT of performance, style, and quality for the money.
