Pros:
This is the eighth thing I've owned from Honda, counting a 1984 Prelude, couple bikes, Accord, Odyssey and even a mower. Honda makes THE BEST engines and this is no exception.
People say there is no torque and you have to rev up the engine, but that is the way F1 cars are and this is no exception. Revs like mad, handles on rails and corners like crazy. Have done autocross with mine as well as track time on VIR. Other cars may catch me on straights but corners are where this excels. Remember, straight lines are for fast cars, curved lines are for fast drivers. This will carve the curvy roads better then anything out there.
Cons:
Stereo for sure. But just buy a new head unit, You pay 20K for a car, buy a stereo and quit complaining.
So well designed can't add much to gain horsepower other then forced induction. It was the highest horsepower per liter car engine on the planet until Ferrari beat it.
Ride is firm. Some people want to float on the road and this will not be for them.
Visibility as with most convertibles with top up is limited. Just drive with the top down and you have no problems.
Not for tall drivers unless you have a hard top. Also seats are snug and if you are on the larger side will find seats are tight.
Overall review:
There is really not much to dislike about the car. Handles better then many other cars I've driven. More horsepower per liter then almost any car on the planet, until 2009. And it took Ferrari to beat it.
93.18 kW (126.7 PS; 125.0 hp) per litre - 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia 419.2 kW (570 PS; 562 hp) 4.499 L
Note: 92 kW (125 PS; 123 hp) per litre - 1999 JDM Honda S2000 184 kW (250 PS; 247 hp) Honda F20C engine 1.997 L
Huge after market support and many clubs/groups across the country. Find out what it is all about. Great car and design that is classic. That is why it has not changed markedly in the entire run. They hit it right off the bat, Honda may never duplicate this.
Like the NSX, this car should be cherished and driven.
