A good start, but not a breakthrough
by Erik on 04/12/2008.
Trim: 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid 1500 LT1 Ext. Cab 4WD, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
I like the fact that it is Hybrid and it is a good first step to the right direction. It is strong, and stable, with more comfort than you could expect from a real utility truck.
Cons:
I don't like the relatively high price, under acceleration severely understeer, hybrid technology does not use all of it's potential and is more of a selling point with this truck then real propulsion alternative, the gas mileage is not as good as it could be, there are issues (weird noises) in the drivetrain.
Overall review:
It is a very strong and stable truck even under heavy towing load, A lot of good options are available, it is a good start but there is a lot to do. Don't expect miracles
