The 2006 Toyota 4Runner receives exterior updates that include a redesigned front fascia, grille, front bumper, fog lights, headlights, fender flares, lower body-side cladding and rear bumper. A universal mini-jack port and MP3/WMA capability are now standard. A factory-installed nine-inch screen on the rear seat and a navigation system with Bluetooth capability are available. The SR5 receives chrome door handles and license plate trim. The Sport Edition receives a smoked chrome grille and headlight bezels and is available with an accessory appearance package that includes a roof rack and tube steps. The Limited includes standard 18” alloy wheels and black wood-graphic interior trim.
Introduction
The 4Runner is Toyota’s midsize SUV that has retained its exceptional off-road capability, but has also evolved into a vehicle that offers many different variations including 7-passenger seating, luxury amenities and an optional V8 engine. The original 4Runner that was introduced as a 1985 model was really a version of the Toyota pickup with a removable hardtop and extra seat. The fourth-generation 4Runner which debuted as a 2003 model retains its original high-level of off-road capability, but also includes room, power, and luxury.
