2006 Jaguar XJ Series

For 2006 the Jaguar XJ-Series adds the limited edition Super V8 Portfolio flagship and minor updates to the lineup. The exterior of the XJ-Series is updated with chrome mesh grille inserts, new alloy wheels, new smoked-lens side indicators and removal of body side and front/rear window moldings for a cleaner look. The interior receives new laminated side glass and windshield with acoustic interlayer for noise reduction, a standard DVD-based satellite navigation system on XJR and Vanden Plas and a standard electric rear sunblind on XJ8 L. Power has been increased on the naturally aspirated V8 to 300 horsepower and the Supercharged V8 to 400 and a six-speed ZF automatic transmission is standard on all XJ-Series models. A new Conti-Teves braking system helps improve pedal feel and performance and a new tire-pressure-monitoring system features radio frequency transmitters at each wheel.
