The 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid adds a premium package that includes monochromatic exterior, premium leather-trimmed seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, reverse sensing system, hybrid energy display with navigation system, and 110-volt power outlet. Black Clearcoat Metallic is added as an exterior color choice.

Introduction

The Escape is Ford’s compact 4-door SUV that joined the Ford lineup for 2001. The Escape Hybrid was added for 2005 and while it appears nearly identical to a standard Escape, it is powered by an Atkinson-Cycle 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine combined with a 50-kilowatt electric motor. The estimated combined power output for the electric motor and gasoline engine is 155 horsepower.
