New for 2005 Maserati SpyderMaserati commemorates its 90th anniversary with the limited edition Spyder 90th Anniversary, finished in new Anniversary Blue paint with carbon fiber aerodynamic body parts and high-tech interior trim. The convertible top stows beneath a blue carbon fiber cover with roll-hoop fairings. Other exterior features include lower front spoiler, new sill extensions, polished 19-inch aluminum wheels, titanium colored brake calipers, and oval trident badges on the front fenders. The Maserati Spyder has a redesigned front bumper, new grille with horizontal bars like the Quattroporte, and a new rear fascia with side vents covered in black mesh.
IntroductionThe Spyder is Maserati’s high-performance 2-seat convertible that marked the Italian automaker's return to the U.S. for the 2002 model year. Fiat took over ownership of Maserati in 1993, and in 1997 Fiat handed over total ownership and management of Maserati to Ferrari. The Maserati factory received a complete renovation, and in 1998 the company introduced the 3200 GT on which the Spyder is based.
