The 612 Scaglietti is powered by a 540-horsepower V12 engine mounted behind the front axle for a front mid-engine layout with both the transmission and the differential mounted at the rear axle to achieve a 46 percent/54 percent front/rear weight distribution. The 612 Scaglietti is offered with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or the next-generation F1 electro-hydraulic system that operates the clutch and changes gears when the driver flicks the paddles behind the steering wheel. The F1 electro-hydraulic system can operate in an automatic mode, but the transmission is still a mechanical unit containing a clutch.

Unparalleled GT! by drc on 04/14/2011. Trim: 2005 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti F1, Owned 6 years.

Pros: Large touring coupe that flies like a two seater! Amazing sound. Solid handling. Amazingly engineered. A blast to drive...and I can take both my kids for a ride. Fast, beautiful, fun, and seats four. Pure elegance and exhilirating without that space-ship-look for a 20 year old rock star. No compromise at all.

Cons: Expensive...but worth every penny.

Overall review: Never an extra trip to the dealer. Wear and tear as well as extending warranty service are all its needed.
